3 March 2017 -- Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the ATP Tournament in Dubai this week, and to acknowledge this important milestone, a book documenting the history of the tournament has been produced to mark the occasion.
The book, “Game, Set and Dubai: A Quarter Century of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships”, was officially launched today at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City.
Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO of tournament owners and organisers Dubai Duty Free, and Salah Tahlak, Executive Vice President of Corporate Services at Dubai Duty Free and Tournament Director, were interviewed at the launch by respected commentator David Mercer, after being introduced by Robert Mitchell.
The panel revisited the history of the event and discussed the book, an extensively researched history of the Championships. The tournament has grown to become one of the most prestigious and popular events on the world tennis tour, and has played a pivotal role in putting Dubai firmly on the map as one of the greatest sporting destinations in the world.
Colm McLoughlin and Salah Tahlak later signed copies of the book for Isobel Abulhoul, Director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, and for members of the public.
The launch was also attended by Ramesh Cidambi, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Duty Free, and Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice-President Marketing, Dubai Duty Free.
